Take Back the Night!

I must say that this week was pretty awesome. Besides having a chemistry test and a lot of assignments to do, I would have to say, this week ended well. One of the highlights of my week was on Thursday, when I decided to attend "Take Back the Night," a rally and march for women against violence, in honor of Morgan Harrington. I must say, even though I live like 30-45 minutes away from Washington D.C, I never knew how a march or a "Protest" felt like. Like all people who are a part of the stereotype, at first, I thought "Oh great, crazy protesters! I can't believe I am doing this!" I must say, I never would have decided to march if it wasn't an assignment for the women's studies class that I am taking. However, I am so glad I went. It started with a ceremony where we had speakers that talk about organizations that help prevent the violence of women in our community. There were people who shared their personal stories with us and the stories were absolutely heartbreaking. I even shed a few tears while listening to them. (I know, don't laugh, I am a sucker for these things.)Then, we all lit candles, chanted, and walked around campus and downtown to raise awareness of this issue. It was funny seeing people look out their dorm windows and stuff. Its funny because I use to be one of those people as well. I would be like, "What is happening?" being so curious as to why so many people are yelling outside. But now, since the tables are turned, I got to experience this in the perspective of the people who are actually affected by this. I felt very lucky and blessed to be living life with no burdens and tragedies. When I was walking, I definitely felt like the typical "college" students that always protest on T.V. Now I know what they mean when the younger generations have the power to make change in our world. I wish more people are aware of these issues. Not just the issue of violence against women, but many other issues that are really tragic as well. A lot of people don't know that women often times get sexually abused and raped. Even some of my friends asked me, "What? Theres violence against women? I never heard of that." This shows that our society needs to be more aware and involved in learning about these issues.

Randomosity

Hi! Well, I totally forgot that we had a blog due because I have like 10 assignments that are due this week. Plus, my chemistry test is happening in a matter of 5 hours so its crunch time! This week, I don't really have a story to tell, instead, I decided that I am just gonna list some random things that are on the top of my mind right now. Okay, so, here it goes.

- I am currently eating gummy bears
- I am going to fail chemistry
- I am currently obsessed with eating oranges, I had two today already. =]
- What is so wrong with universal health care?
- There is a green pencil right next on my desk
- Ironically, my vacuum is very dusty.
- The weather today confuses me; its sunny but chilly right now, and we are getting a mix of rain and snow tonight?
-It is now 2:04pm
- I am not very productive
- My toes are itchy. What a random place.
- I only have two sheets of printer paper left on my printer
- LEAVE TIGER WOODS ALONE. geez.
- Dieting is very difficult.
- I am thinking about the beach <3
- Why is this semester so much harder?
- Why are teddy bears naked? They are suppose to be G-rated toys.
- Why does Winnie the Pooh have no pants on? (And hes proud of it in the picture above)
- I recently saw a site with Disney Princes modeling underwear?!
- My roommate is eating a sandwich
- I hope my calculator does not run out of batteries during the test
- My roommate painted her nails neon green
- Ah! Course request starts tomorrow?!
- Justin Bieber's songs are stuck in my head
- I am full.
- I am so anti-veggies
-What really came first? The chicken or the egg?
- Man,its really hard to fill up at least 350 words.
- I really want to get Samosas
- Have you tried the bubble tea at Opass?

OH OH! and a really random thing to pass time.
Simplify this inequality; isolating i.

9x-7i > 3(3x-7u)

Answer :
9x-7i > 9x-21u
-7i > -21u
= i <3 u

Spring Break and Evil Micky D's Sweet Tea!

Hooray! Another blog post! (not really but that's okay) Anyways, I guess for this blog, I am going to talk about spring break and sweet tea because that is what I can remember on the top of my head. This is definitely going to be a really random post that is all over the place. (Sorry guys, blame it on the sweet tea...you shall read about it in the further paragraphs)

Spring break was a week long, and I felt like it was only one weekend. I did absolutely nothing productive. I spent a lot of time with family and friends. It was exciting to go back because almost all of the colleges were out on the same day.

On Saturday and Sunday, I went shopping! I haven't shopped in months and to finally be able to go to the mall was super fun! On Monday, I had a sleepover with some of my friends. I know I know! I seem to be a bit too old for slumber parties, but hey! I am still a kid at heart! I bonded with my friends that I haven't seen since winter break! Its good to still keep in touch with them and being able to catch up felt so light hearted.

However, spring break wasn't all that good. I got an eye infection and I looked really bad for a few days. My left eye was all swollen and I am still taking antibiotics for it. But anyways, back to the good stuff. =)

For the rest of the week, I got to go see "She's Outta My League" and I spent some time bonding with my parents.

Now, I promised I will talk about Micky D's Sweet Tea, because this is all I can think about the whole day. So yesterday, when I came back to Tech, I went to McDonald's. I live in Monteith (The Cadet/Civilian dorm that no one knows exists, and Micky D's is my backyard, so its the fastest access I have to food. I got the Sweet Tea there and although it was very good, it ruined my life for about 24 hours. I drank this at about 8-9pm and IT KEPT MY UP THE WHOLE ENTIRE NIGHT! I had a chemistry lab midterm this morning, so I stayed up to study. I went to bed at around 2:30 and lied their until 5:15. I was going crazy last night because whatever I did, I could not fall asleep. I decided to read, play with my iTouch, study some more, stared into space, and even count sheep! I was kinda freaking out because I had a chemistry lecture at 9am and the midterm at 12 and I cant function with just 3 hours of sleep! So I had no choice but to skip my chemistry class this morning (which was nerve racking because I've never skipped a class this semester) and sleep in until English. (I didn't want to miss English because of attendance)and I came in to find out that class was actually canceled! AH! Rough day, but surprisingly, I am functioning kinda well with 3 hours of sleep. I'm still not tired! geesh!
